Course Description

The impulse to move lives much more strongly in children than in adults. We wonder why kids can’t sit still! Physical movement can benefit school performance, but it also releases joy in the child and confidence, rather than a feeling of being out of control. Through movement with intention, such as yoga and the martial arts, children can learn self-awareness and self-regulation.

Many children are restless and unable to pay attention for long periods of time . They feel their bodies need for movement and have difficulty keeping it still. Movement with intention can help them learn to self-regulate.

Terry gives practical and easily adaptable examples of the benefits of movement: sharing techniques for grounding wild energy; synchronizing with nature’s rhythm to bring a deep relaxed state to children; how to transition from ‘mind’ work to body work and back again. Terry also addresses what neuroscience is telling us about the significance of movement.

Instructor

Terry Kvasnik

Terry was a highly energized child whose parents helped him channel that energy into gymnastics lessons. Terry made the study and expression of MOVEMENT his life’s work. He spent years in Cirque du Soleil, became a Hollywood stunt man, mastered Chi Gung and is an artistic performer and creative producer. Terry is now inspiring children, through what he has learned about the benefits and joys of MOVEMENT. Terry works with body-mind-soul, using our bodies to find our soul.
